How does our cultural background influence the way we think, feel, and act? How "deep" is the impact of culture on cognition, i.e., to what extend are basic cognitive procedures embedded into cultural meaning systems? What is the role of the self-construal in the emergence of cultural differences? Does culture affect we conceptualize learning and if so, what are the consequences for multi-cultural learning environments? Answering these questions is the central goal of my research.
